Any updates on the Meopta Optika's shipping???

I'm still waiting for my 3-18x50 SFP to show up.
I've noticed my vendor (Optics Planet) has revised and extended their stated delivery times for ALL the Optika 6 scopes. Their website now agrees with the statement I received directly from an Meopta employee about a month ago for my model. He said my model will be shipping mid November. Optics Planet is now showing various lead times which is different for each model scope and they are much longer now than when I ordered mine. Most are 'Not in Stock' but they do show a stated lead time. Some are shown as months long to as far as 'Unknown'.
I contacted another large European scope vendor last week and they said Meopta is not even talking about lead times on the Optika scopes. Something blew up bad along the way during this product launch. IMHO............It appears to be an internal train wreck for Meopta. We'll see what kind of product we get....................when it ships.
I'm still waiting for mine to show up.

Well, I had been in on the original order from D'Vor....a couple months ago, and cancelled after the eta changed twice....I really had high hopes, but it gets spooky when an established company has this much trouble getting a new product line out. If it was still pre production, I could see it, but there catalog had it in there, and word from some people in the know, stated it would be shipping before this. I think , like you stated, it was a train wreck.....think I'll sit back and watch, but in the meantime, my money will go elsewhere..rsbhunter

Last week I sent Meopta three emails looking for a production update. All went unanswered.
I called their office in Florida twice today. They didn't even answer the phone. Phone just rang and rang until I finally hung up. I tried both phone numbers that were posted on their website.

Meopta finally responded (today after 5 days) to one of my previous email requests as to when the scope I have on order would ship.

Their answer is..............
"The (model) 653641 production has been pushed to 1Q 2020 (January) as a result of the delays in production of other models. Unfortunately it will not be until January that we start seeing these arrive in Florida from Czech Republic."
Todays response came from the same Meopta employee that back on October 8th said that model would be shipping mid November.

That's enough for me. I cancelled my order today.
I refuse to purchase from a manufacturer that can not produce their product, know when it will ship out or return customer requests in a timely fashion.

I'm going back to proven manufacturers that can produce the products they sell. I can only imagine what it would be like having to deal with them on a warranty issue, knowing how they have operated and responded so far.

Don't own a Meopta.............and probably never will now.

I agree, I can handle out of stock on an item, or even discontinued....but when it has my, or someone else's money tied up in promises,or unknown delivery dates, then a line has been crossed that will stand in people's minds for a long time....there are other optics that have the same reputation for quality, that can be had in the same price "range"....Saving 100-200$ doesn't matter when you have nothing in your hand....rsbhunter

I will probably own a Meopta at some point if they actually produce the Optika 6 5-30x56 Dichro MRAD in the next year or so. I won't be paying MSRP though.

That's the one I ordered (at full MSRP) and Meopta cancelled.

Luckily I was late to the game and didn't have to wait so long to be disappointed.

Maybe it would be smart if everyone cancelled? We don't deserve to be treated like this and I don't know how else to communicate that with them.

If we cancel, spend our money elsewhere and forget about Optika 6, maybe they won't drop the ball so badly next time.

EXACTLY! As consumers, we still have a voice in a lot of decisions....this situation will speak loudly to other companies that decide to introduce new products...rsbhunter

I finally canceled my Optika order. I thought I could wait it out but then my new rifle was ready. So, I went with a Steiner. If I decide to have another rifle built, perhaps I'll try them again.

I've been looking at them. Which one are you looking at and why do you like it. I don't have a one of their scopes yet but really do like their 8x56 binos I have.

Cameraland has all of the 3-18's and 5-30 in stock. I've bought a handful of optics from then over the years and the owner of Cameraland is a straight shooter. Always great service and fast shipping.

Heres a link to what he has in stock ready to ship at the moment.

Thanks for posting that. While they do have some in stock...............They don't have the model I wanted.

Cant help you there. I heard Meopta has been making reticle option changes to some models after listening to requests of the general populace. Just trying to give the people more options so they can get what they want. I say good on Meopta for that.

They will all be out eventually. People getting worked up about certain models not being out on the market yet isnt going to make anything go faster. Just have to be patient.

I deleted the thread I started on the Meopta Optika6 subject because it was turning into nothing more than a spot for people to whine and complain. Really annoying. Seems this thread is heading the same direction...

I can't remember anything these days. I made a mistake. When I said I don't own one..............I was thinking about a General Hunting scope that could replace the Meopta I had on order.
I actually do own a Steiner model P4Xi, item #5202, 1-4x24mm Tactical Rifle Scope. It is a GREAT optic and a bargin for what I paid for it (<$ 500.00). I love it for a CBQ rifle application. I'll post my review of it in another thread.
I hope their higher powered scopes are as good as this P4Xi and the 8x56 binos I've had for over twenty years. Their 56mm objectives on the binos are stupid bright but heavy.
Problem is I've never found a general hunting scope in the flesh so I can put my eyes through one to check out their optics and features.
I was investigating the Steiner H4Xi series, 3-12x56 or 4-16x56 when I ran across the Meopta Opitika 6 and decided to get it instead.
I was also looking at the GS3 series.
There was something about the Steiners that turned me off of them. Need to find my old notes.

Anyone have comments on the H4Xi or GS3 series scopes?

I notice that D'vor has a lot for sale for really decent prices....didn't see any "expected ship" dates, so maybe they are now in stock and available to ship? Hoping to see some reviews from regular shooters...maybe compared and tested against other mid level scopes....from the limited reviews I've read, I believe they are a great deal for the price...rsbhunter

I got a call, my Optika6 MRAD is in stock. I paid for it over the phone and it was shipped. Expected deliver by the weekend.
