Hi regarding 6br is there any thing specific i should ask the barrel makers , border) to do to the barrel to make it shoot i am thinking now 28 inch 1-8 twist bull barrel with RPA action and stock. what other things should i know? ie throat sizes etc to give me the best out of this????? chris

Are you having the barrel maker chamber it or a gunsmith?
You need to know what throat length you want based on what bullet you are planning on shooting the most. Also, are you going to turn your case necks or not? That will determine what neck they will cut in the chamber. If you are not sure you should look at the guns of the week or some of the article archives to help you decide. Unless you are the type who enjoys spending a lot of time meticulously prepping your cases a no-turn neck is probably your best bet. And if you are looking toward the 107gr. SMK; which is very popular, you should look for a throat length that will get it's boat tail out of the case neck/ shoulder junction. If your like me I shoot varmints a lot so I want a throat that will seat the SMK properly while still being short enough to seat the 87 gr. V-max to the rifling.
