any seb joy pod reviews from raton ftr class shooters

Could the shooters that shot the seb joy pod give us a review and tips for shooting off this bipod for ftr. Thanks for your help. Which leg option you used and did you load the bipod or free recoil?
Also any info on the ftr version that is being tested.

Give them time. There all traveling back. Jim Crofts has one I'm not sure if he shot it at the Nationals.

Laurie Holland has reviewed both of the SEB joy-pods in Target Shooter magazine (www.targetshooter.co.uk or see the Target Shooter Apple app for back issues).

Laurie is on his way back to the UK from Raton and he'll be doing a write-up on the FTR Worlds for the Sept. issue of the magazine. I'm sure he'll comment on the Joy-pod.

My daughter used hers for 4 days straight in all the dirt and mess of Raton and had no issues. I spoke to Mid Tompkins briefly about his and he said he really likes it. My daughter has sold out and is ready to shoot ftr full time now.

Caddies,
There were 3 (or 4?) shooters that use the J-pod @ the Nats & Worlds --- Mid Tompkins, Riley Jensen, me, and probably one of Aussie shooters but I am not sure.
They're all prototype, not the production units (not yet).

Mid told me that he has two advantages using the Joy-pod - i.e. the joystick itself and the elevation ratchet adjustment. Other than that, I don't know - however from my own experience @ Raton using the prototype I would say that it was easy, quick & joy to shoot. My opinion can be biased as I am the maker.
Mid sets a National record with his J-pod @ Camp Perry just a few weeks ago, and 1st place in the Sharpshooter Nats - by the way. Riley got some medals in the Nats & Worlds. That's a proof that the J-pod works, even it's just a prototype. Me/mine? Sorry I am a really bad driver, lol!!! I need a lot more range time, seriously.

Yes, I still need to improve the bipod, but I know what to do, it's just about the time to do it.
I will re-design the top (i.e. to accept Anschutz/Freeland rail, Picatinny/Weaver & sling stud. Also it should be easier & quicker to assemble-disassemble) --- will change the connection between the joystick head & the center shaft --- and a bit larger stick diameter. Will probably change the feet also.
That's all I think. I will not change the coaxial unit & the leg/ratchet design, though.
You will see many shooters use the Joy-pod on the line in the next future when they are available & improved, I promise - just like the NEO & MAX - it'll be a keeper when ready.

Shooting 200 gr Berger - with offset legs - have tried free recoil, light & firm grip to see how it works. I prefer to shoot almost free recoil with my shoulder barely touching the buttpad myself.

Thanks for all that replied. Looking forward to the production version of the joy pod. My arms are too short to reach my sinclair adjustable bipod while in position. Will use sinclair until seb jpy pod available.

Man, if that becomes a production unit, it could revolutionize F-TR. I hope it becomes available soon.
