We've had issues where a business says they use UPS and we supply our physical addres

UPS started the 'Surepost' method long before I retired

Never understood it......but is still being used.....who makes the money on the box ??

Fed Ex ground does the same thing currently too

I don't know, but it confuses the delivery issue. We have a PO Box and entered this rabbit hole a lot in the past. We'd buy something and the vendor said they ship UPS, so we gave them our street address. They used Surepost so it went to the post office, where we have a post office box. But wait, the address on the package was our street address, where we do not get mail delivered. Sometimes the carrier made the connection and it showed up in our box the next day, other times it got sent back to the vendor as undeliverable.

We finally eliminated that hassle by using our street address followed by the PO box number, but without the words PO Box. The UPS guy actually asked what the number was because normally an address like that is an apartment and we live out in the country.

Ups won’t deliver to post office box but will if the package is shipped by surpost.

UPS will deliver to the address of the post office location where your PO box resides. Then postal employee puts the item in your box.

But you are correct that UPS will not deliver the package if it is addressed to a PO box.

l get items UPS delivered all the time to my PO box. Fact is l prefer UPS to deliver rather than the post office.
Couple weeks ago l received an EMPTY usps flat-rate box at my PO box sent thru the US mail. Twas supposed to have had 150 Nosler Partition bullets 160gr/7mm@ $170. l asked the Postal lady about my bullets. She said the sender did not put enough tape on the box. ''FILE A CLAIM''. Fortunately the sender had more Noslers. l requested he send them UPS, the BROWN truck. Got my UPS pkg safe and sound at my PO box
