Any issues with Jewell safeties?

I am sure this is probably a stupid question, but with all the talk about Remington safety problems I was wondering if anyone had heard of or experienced any problems with Jewell HVR top safeties (on a Stiller Predator short action if it makes any difference)?

Never had a single problem with Jewells safety's in the guns I use them in...
But like I taught in the NYS Hunter Safety classes-- NEVER TRUST ONE..........

Just took another look at the instruction sheet that came with my Jewell HVR trigger, and although exterior dimensions are the same as a Rem. factory, I believe the internal working parts are a completely different design. The safety is a rotating cam unlike the safety on the remington. Sear engagement, overtravel and pull force adjustment screws are completely different.

I bet almost all, if not all the reported problems with Remington triggers is due user adjusting there triggers and not a gunsmith who knows WTF there doing, a properly adjusted Remington old style trigger will break at 2.5 pounds, never have any of the problems CNBC reported and last a lifetime. I have dry fired mine over 30k times and sent close to 10k downrange with almost no maintenance and it still feels great in my 308, my 260 has a Jewel in it adjusted to 1.5 pounds and feels even better, but Jewels require maintenance, every 500 rounds it gets lighter fluid bath, so have your trigger worked on by someone who knows what they are doing and don't beleave everything you see on TV.

I bought a "used" jewel HVR that had a Rem bolt release which the former owner had removed.
When I installed it on a Stiller Predator and tested it, every time I put the safety on pulled the trigger, no problem, BUT when I pushed the safety OFF, it fired EVERY time.
When the former owner had removed the bottom bolt release he had "bent" the external spring which prevented the safety cam inside the trigger from rotating as far as it was designed to. Thus allowing the upper level to disengage the sear when the trigger was pulled and travel forward enough that when the trigger was released the sear DID NOT reengage.
Since I now had to take the trigger apart I decided to reinstall the bolt release and install the trigger on a 40X action. I reformed the springs curve and tested THOROUGHLY, problem solved.

I firnly believe what PREACHER said, " NEVER TRUST ONE "!! That is why all of my rifles are equipped with a BR trigger. That way my brain is tuned to one trigger. I really see no need to be out hunting with a loaded round in the chamber. I am never in that big of a hurry. When I am ready to shoot I chamber a round.

As Dave said, here's another example of a perfectly fine, safe trigger, (like an unaltered Remington) that left the factory and would have been trouble free, until some "tinkerer" altered it. Of course, this issue was never addressed by the TV attention getting "report". Just installed another Jewell HVR in one of my Remington 700's, and ordered another, that's how impressed I am with them. I've had several Remington 700 triggers tuned by Neil Jones (1# mimimum) and they have been trouble free.
