Any good???

I know that most people like the RCBS over the Lyman Powder scale dispensers ??? BUT has anyone compared this to either: Smartreloader iSD Automatic Powder Scale & Dispenser

I have been using two of the orginal Culver's for 30 years and would like to purchase one

Natchez sells them and they look nice and compac. I am going to "Bite the Bullet" and buy one I just want the best one for the $$$$

Frankly I think they all have "issues".

Heard the Smartreloader one has little "support". Don't know how they work. Think ALL of them are Chinese so it may boil down to who handles them in the U.S. and how they back their product.

I have a Hornady. It works. It also has "issues". So do two RCBS ones friends of mine use.

Think it all might be a push. I would go with support - RCBS, Lyman or Hornady.

The Pact unit is still made in Texas, I believe. I have used a Pact extensively for 8 years, and it has served me well. Last year I bought a Chargemaster (RCBS) because it is more user friendly, esp. changing out powders....and they offered a $50 rebate. Was going to sell the Pact, but I like to be able to cross-check readings between the two and the 1010 bal. beam scale.

I have the SmartReloader ISD and its decent if you get one for a good price. Mine was $152 shipped from Midsouth. Out of the box it was very very slow. However the company has a youtube video which shows how you can adjust when it starts tricking and how fast it trickles the charge. After playing with this its as fast as any other electronic dispenser out there.

It's good for about .1 gr the majority of the time. Every once in a while it will go beyond that but i throw my charge back in the hopper and dispense another load and it comes out to my target charge weight. I checked the charges dispensed and they were right on the money with my RCBS beam scale.

The manual isn't that great. I think they figured that out and that's why they uploaded those youtube videos. But I was able to have it set up and throwing consistently about 30 minutes after opening the package. I wouldn't be surprised if Customer Service was a bit sketchy. I haven't had a need to call them yet.

As long as you get it for a decent price then I say they are a good buy.

Grafs said they boxed up all their Smartloader stuff and sent it back since they were getting it back from their customers. I took some back myself. Couldn't stand the made in China.
