Any good thermal scopes for under $2K?

I'm looking to put a thermal on my 6ARC AR for Coyote hunting this winter, and all I can spend is 2K max. Is there any good choices out there for that money? Thanks for any assistance!

This is something I've been quietly paying attention to. I'm moving to a place that will have critter problems.

Not to hijack your thread... but do the less expensive models just use a big IR light? Can't critters of the night see that?

I am old , and old school. I have called and killed coyotes at night with yellow, red, green and ….. bright white lights. Had a friend with an old Gen 2 NV with an IR illuminator that didn’t seem to bother them if they were locked onto the call already.

I have had coyotes run over my legs getting to the call and jump over my shoulder when the snuck in behind me. That is fun.

I don’t own NV or thermal but have hunted with guys that do and it is way high on the cool factor but, with the price of coyote pelts these days, take a long time to pay off versus a good light. Seems a bit overkill for a stinky coyote.

Seems like we were playing a video game out in the field. More about the cool than the pest control process. Coyotes were just the warm target that lit up the scopes.
