Any good bore lapping videos?

you need some basic skills and the necessary tools to do it properly

Yep no worries mate you have a problem with the barrel I can sell you a hand laping kit that will fix that right up

I've used Tubb FF on three different OEM barrels, and in every case group sizes decreased significantly and copper fouling as well. Yes the cracked throats cleaned up and advanced on the order of ten thousandths. I survived adjusting seating depths.

Dont discount that. Its diatomaceous earth and works well

That would lap the whole barrel.

If you slug a barrel and find a tight spot somewhere you want to correct, you just want to lap that area. Or maybe you need to lap the first half of the tube because the muzzle end is larger (you obviously want the muzzle end smaller or exactly the same as the breech end)

So it begs the question.... Is the original poster trying to polish the whole barrel, or specific sections that need it?


If you want to play around with it, get some soft lead, aluminum oxide powder, some mid weight grease, and go to town.

Use an old jag on a cleaning rod, stick it in the barrel, pour some molten lead over it to make your lap. Apply your oxide grease and lap away until your lands are gone.

Glad to hear that reiterated. I swear that was what we were paying for.
That's pretty labor-intensive.

Curious how fine the high-end barrel makers take their lapping procedures.
KG-2 (polish) is 1200 - 1400 grit per their website. And it is DE IIRC.
I always thought JB was garnet but my memory is being abraded away by time.
