Any experience with WC852?

I have a quantity of WC852 surplus bulk powder I bought about 20 years ago for $2.50/lb. With the current scarcity of components & powders I've started trying to use some of this powder. I reload mostly .308 & .223 and I have yet to find an application where this powder is useful. The instructions I got with it said to work up loads from data for H414. My problem is that when I do that, the velocities I get are nothing near what published H414 tables show (say 100 fps slower). I get the impression this lot of powder is actually somewhat slower than H414.

Just curious if anyone else has used WC852 and where you might have found it useful?

There were several lots of WC852. Some were around the speed of 414, and some were around the speed of 4831.

Well then, I guess what I have is some very slow WC852, which might be handy in my '03 Springfield or 1917, but not for the Garand. I don't own anything "bigger" than a .30-'06. (Or with a greater case volume to bore ratio.)
