Any Experience with the Norma 130 gr Golden Targets?

I'm getting ready to try these in my 6.5x47 Lapua (Bartlein 1:8 twist, 22") and wasn't finding much information with regards to whether they prefer to be jumped/jammed, how much jump they tend to like, etc.

I heard that their actual BC tends to run higher that what is published. Anyone have any real-life drop data and what BC is working for them?

I have an extremely accurate load with the 130 AR Hybrids (41.3 gr, jumped 0.015"), but at ~ $0.12 less per bullet I'd love to find some accuracy with the GT's. It looks like the GTs are longer overall, appear to have a longer bearing surface, are ~ 0.025" shorter COAL when touching the lands compared to the AR's, and sit further into the case.

These are the same bullet used in Prime 6.5 Creedmoor. A friend shoots for Prime and instructed me to use .580 G1. He has tested that to past 1k. I cannot help with jump/jam as I only have experience with loaded ammo in a buddies rifle. As for accuracy, they were good, but I think it depends on your chamber/barrel. Might be worth a try, but if the Bergers are shooting as good as you say...

I have been using the moly coated version of these bullets at a COAL of 2.788 in a 6.5x47 Lap which is around 20 thou off a hard jam. Using 40 grs N550 from a 300 yard zero, my drops are as follows:

600 yards 8.25 moa
800 yards 14.75 moa
900 yards 18.50 moa
1000 yards 22.50 moa

These are approximate of course, depending on the range and conditions, but good enough to be reasonably close to the waterline. I haven't cronographed the latest batch of bullets I am using but the last lot were running 2860 or so with that load from a 30" barrel.

Hope that helps.

Been using them in Creedmoor for a few years. Ran them from 5 thou to 30 thou off the lands. They are jump tolerant. Never tried to jam them in the lands

Thanks! I'll probably get to testing them next week. Having a known jump window to start with helps.

They sort of broke my micrometer seating die and I had to send the die back for repairs. According to the die mfr, the shape of the bullet nose so closely matched the shape of the seating plug that downward pressure 'belled' the seating outward plug and pushed it against the walls of the sleeve that it slides in. What I felt was the die binding when I seated these bullets. They said they re-contoured the shape of the seating plug to work with these bullets.

A friend that I know that shoots highpower with 6.5x55 and states he called Norma to ask about these bullets. He was told by them that they prefer a faster powder. He was shooting H4350 and was told by the technical staff to try Varget/RL15 speed powders. He did and they are shooting great for him now.

Something to consider.
