130 gr Berger VLDs in 6.5x284 Norma?

I've seen the question posted, but I don't recall seeing much responce, so I'm putting it out again in the hopes that some of you have had a chance to play with the combo.
I was looking at the BCs for the 142 SMK,0.570), 130 Berger VLD,0.595), and the 140 gr Berger,0.640). Has anyone discovered if the velocity gain of the 130 provides better wind drift and or trajectory results at the 1k line?
Also, as an unrelated question, sort of), of those who uniform your metlates, which seems to require more work, Bergers or Sierras? Thanks, -bnw

I asked this question a month or 2 ago and got few useful responses. The article that pointed me to this was the LR-prairiedog article here... http://www.the-long-family.com/2007_TRO_hunting_trip.htm . I got 2 new barrels last Sunday and am developing loads including the 130 Berger and the 123 Scenar. So far the Scenar is shooting more accurately, but I've not yet played with seating depth, will do Wednesday).

So far I've tried H4350 and H4831SC with both bullets, and am staying with BR4s). The highest loads I've tried are 49g. of H4350 and 54g. H4831 with the 130 and 50.5g of H4350 with the 123 Scenar in my 6.5-284 Shehane.

We'll see.

BTW I believe by definition that a higher-BC bullet will be deflected by wind less than a lower-BC bullet started at the same velocities, but I expect someone will clarify that.

Thanks, I'm curious in the trade offs, less than 10% loss in BC vs possible 10% gain in velocity, which eats barrels faster...). Then you have barrel prefference tossed in, who knows?

I suppose I'll have to buy a batch and see. Any one out there got numbers from their tests? Thanks! -bnw

I have tried the Berger 130 and Lapua 123 just to find out what
velocity would group well, have not found it yet with 130s)
H4350x at 50.0 gr. w/210M primer = 3091 fps over my 35P,5 shots)
Same load w215M primer = 3096,5 shots) groupds ran around 1 inch at a 100 yds. 100 yds.is to close to get a good read on the 130 VLDs.
The Lapuas 123s were very good at 100 yds. with H4350 at 47.5 gr.
w/210M primers running 3000 fps w/ES at 9& SD at 3. shot very tight, 5 shots in two holes.
Good Luck & Good Shooting.
Gary.
