Any experience hunting the 6 GT or 6 XC?

Saw a few articles/posts on booth cartridges. Anyone using them for varmint/deer hunting? Looking for your experiences and range of bullet sizes used. Not interested in the 6 CM/243 Win/6 Rem at this time, but something different.

I have a 6xc sporterweight (Contour 5 or 6??) 26" 10 tw stainless barrel on a Rem 700 that I use for 'chucks, 'yotes, & deer. I shoot 70-95gr bullets through it.

My experience with the XC is that it is very easy to load for.

This one shoots 75gr Vmax's really well, 80gr Sierra Blitz and 85gr HPBT bullets exceptionally well. I've only shot 2 deer with it using the 85gr Sierra HPBT and they dropped just as fast as the same bullet out of a 243. Using the 75gr Vmax it is pretty graphic on 'chucks, and I haven't had many complete pass throughs on 'yotes. JME. WD

The 6XC is a terrific cartridge for deer hunting with the proper bullet selection and load workup.

Don't underestimate the 6x47 Lapua cartridge either. Just as easy to work up loads and works well in the short action rifles like the 6XC.
