Any compelling reason not to buy an Atlas Tactical

Ive never had to modify bottom metal for the trigger to not hit it. What kind of bottom metal? I do however always inlet the back of the magwell. Not a big deal as it takes 2 seconds and the bottom metal gets cerakoted anyways. Several actions out there don't match 700 ejection ports perfectly. That's why I order stocks for the exact action Ill use. In fact a Lone Peak lapua bolt face fuzion won't eject a loaded 300 norma improved round. Too short of a ejection port and the bolt goes a lot further behind the rear cut of the port. However a fired case will eject no problem. The kelbly hangers aren't adjustable however they do have offset trigger hangers they will swap out for free if a guy needs one. Its definitely the smoothest cycling/feeding lapua action that Ive felt. And like you said. For $1100 you cant beat it for what all it comes with.

Just letting people know who do their own stock work that the Lapua Atlas is not a true 700 footprint so they know what to expect before finding out it doesnt fit their 700 long action stock.

The standard long action and short action might have a slightly different story. My experience is only with the Lapua size action.

I jumped on the bandwagon and bought an impact precision. Before I did I was seriously considering the atlas tactical. Kelblys has a ton of world records So they must be doing something right. I can’t help but feel like it’s not tacticool enough.
If that's really a problem for you, then go buy a Black Bear.

That should solve wallet and black paint issues for awhile. :)

I had a manners elite with a mini chassis. If the black bear would have fit I would have. I like the flat bottom it just did work as easy with what I had. I recently bought a bench rest rifle in 30br using a kelbleys panda action. It’s smooth and shoots very Well.

Triggers should be free floating. Some bottom metal with touch pins that protrude from the trigger. This happens more on some triggers than others. In those cases opening up the bottom metal is necessary.
