Any BPCR shooters here heading the Quigley shoot in June?? Been casting and getting ready!

Did it in the mid 1990's ( 1995 I think ). It was fun. Stayed at the motel on the edge of town next to the road out to the Lee ranch. Ate dinner at the Grey Goose ( ? ) restaurant in town. Fun times.

I have never shot any matches with my Sharpes rifles but I have seemed to collect them.
I have 10 Shilohs in everything from 40-65 to 50-140.
I can't bring myself to sell them.

I’d like to be…. I have a rifle, powder, lead, molds, etc…. Unfortunately I am fully employed and shoot smallbore, high power, lever gun and 22 BPCR now and shooting the black stuff it entirely too time consuming.

Both of those rifles are 40-65. Used to shoot a 45-2.6 but the people I shoot with kept complaining about being next to it! I have been at the shoot every year since 2000, with the exception of 1 year when I was moving and the covid year it was canceled.

Edit: Rained out one year, but I was there!! Stayed overnight and headed back home.

Close to a Postel. I actually have no idea. I bought the mould used, it has no markings. No idea who made it. I know it shoots very well in my Shiloh!!

I used to shoot a little BPCR. Went to the “Q” once way back in ‘01. Hard to believe it was 24 years ago. 360 or so shooters even back then if I remember right. Quite an experience. I took 800+ rounds for 3 rifles.

Hard to imagine putting 800 rounds through a single shot rifle in less than 6 days. I take about that too. You ain't shoot'n no 22!! Buggers do kick a little. One friend exceeds a 1000!!
Been around 700 shooters a couple of years.

Interesting mold handles, did you make them? I have a Browning 1885 BPCR in 45-70. Bullet recommendations would be appreciated, although I see those were in .40. Thanks, Jim

BACO 535 grain money bullet, 16-1 alloy for your 45-70. The handles look like the ones I have from BACO also, but mine are all aluminum.

I designed and manufactured "mould holder" for years sold many under "Cabintree LLC" name. I redesigned them just before I sold the business. Those are in the photo, one aluminum and one steel. Being made and sold by "Desperado Cowboy Bullets " now. If you cast a lot it's far easier on the hands and will likely reduce weight variance. Not for everyone but they work!
