Any 6.5-06 Owners?

I have one, a lightweight hunter type built on a Charles Daily action, Shilen #3 contour barrel in a Choate stock. The rifle was built on the cheap and I only have $400.00 invested which included a set of RCBS dies.

The rifle is a "Good Enough" shooter & will hold 1/2" or so at 100 yards if I take it slow & easy allowing 5 minutes or so between shots. It really likes a Nosler 120gr BT bullet powered by a load of IMR4350.

Any other 6.5-06 lovers here?

My 6.5-06 is a 28" Shilen a little heavier than the standard varmint taper from remingtion. I got it on a Rem long action that I blueprinted. I built it for 1000 yd F-class last winter. I have only put 200 rounds through it this spring but I must say with 139 gr Scenar bullets and N-160 it will get the job done at 1000 yds. Seems to be real finnicky about keeping the velocity right at 2900 though.
