Key to reaching this consistency was looking at a plumbline and learning to recognize what a level reticle really looks like. I also used this plumbline to find how the scope needed to be mounted when the rifle was held canted (due anatomy).
I don't use any terrain features, I solely rely on my balance and the reticle.
