Target preferred But could open up a sporter

The sporter stocks I've owned and also seen have very little room to open up the barrel channel. Probably the best general purpose factory stock would be the one that the original 64 Target came in when Savage was the importer of these. They occasionally come up for sale.

Couldn't get it to turn right side up. It's in 95%+ condition complete with trigger guard and bottom metal
