Anschutz 17LP

Pretty slow on the rimfire board so offering up some pics of a group I shot yesterday. Gun is an Anschutz 17LP, CCI 17grain V-Max, Burris handgun scope on 12X at 100 Yds. It figures there wasn't a soul other than I on the 100 yd. range to verify. Man I love this gun. Hog

Don't know how many shooters would know what model an Anschutz 17P (Bolt Action Pistol) is. For that style of weapon, that's some pretty nice grouping, especially with that ammo. Heck that would be a fantasic group with a long gun/rifle in 17 HMR @ 100 yds. I have a friend who has that model (I think) in 22LR and it shoots really nice. But personally, I'm a long gun/rifle guy, but not completely surprised because it's a Anschutz and I know first hand what an Anschutz is capable of. Mine spoils me and I have not had any of my other rimfires (none Anschutz) out to shoot in the past year. Love that accuracy. Congrats on some really nice shootin, regardless if it was at 50, 75 or 100 yds. I'd be putting that baby up on my wall above my reloading bench for sure. Have fun and why not try some "better ammo" and see if you can even better that group. Might consider either Lapua Midas+, CenterX, Eley Red Tenex ( or possibly Eley Black) or even a box of Federal Ultra Match UM22.

Shynloco, Thanks. There is quite a selection of ammo albeit not as extensive as the .22s. I've tried them all and the V-Max wins out in the pistol and two Annie 17HMR long guns I have. The accuracy is amazing and the triggers are first class too. Curious that the pistols aren't imported anymore.

I have one and love it it also shoots that good ive had 6x24 and 2x8 pistol scops and had a sightron red dot all shoot very well used it to compete with other rifles at rimfire shoots that allow 17hmr they dont think it will do very well against rifle but its fun to prove them wrong have a bi pod on it and all scopes have 11mil rings so i can switch it to what ever i want from target to varmint gun in minutes also have a 1416in a 17m2 that shots like a laser beam with eley ammo

My Anschutz 1717 also really likes the CCI 17gr. V-Max, I have Winchester and Federal 17gr. on order just to try for the heck of it, but they will be hard pressed to out perform the CCI in my rifle.

I have an Annie in 17MPR with the long heavy barrel and the 17Vmax works best in it also. I've tried them all, weights and brands, and Annies like the Vmax in either Hornady or CCI. My CZs like the 20gr gamepoints, Hornady and CCI. As a follow up, I shot a first year tiny tot ground hog DRT the other day at 147 yards with the pistol. Freakin' awesome gun.
