Anschutz 1517 with beavertail stock - bipod recommendations?

This same question is posted on a rimfire site, but I thought why not also post it here and see what members of this forum might have to say on the matter.

I recently purchased my first Annie, a 1517 with the beavertail stock fore-end with swivel stud sling mounts. My question is this; With an essentially flat stock fore-end, what type bi-pod would best be suited to fit this stock without marring the finish? I understand the sportsman style stock with a somewhat rounded fore-end would easily allow a Harris or similar bi-pod to fit nicely, but can the same be said for a flatter style beavertail stock?

Thanks in advance for your help and/or suggestions.

After searching a little online and on the Harris Bipod website, I think I may have found the answer to my original question. Harris calls it the No. 9 Adapter and according to their website, it is meant for flat bottom bench rest type stocks.

No. 9 Adapter - Harris Bipods

Has anyone else given this adapter a try in combination with a Harris bipod and if so, what did you think? Did it live up to the claim of not marring the beavertail stock?

Did you see
  • Stud is required on fore-end
Yes, I did. The rifle already has two swivel studs installed, one on the rear of the stock and one on the fore-end. I also noted the fore-end stud may need to be long enough to allow attaching the bipod.
