My new little 22

This is the "one and only" Kelbly/Swindlehurst chrome-moly action ever made. Greg Walley made the action, hand-lapped the bolt to the receiver, and fitted the Krieger #5 chrome-moly 1-16” barrel a few years ago. The barreled action is high polished and deep-blued, with a polished stainless steel bolt handle and bolt shroud, jeweled bolt body, polished and blues steel trigger guard, and Kelbly BR trigger. The stock is fancy grade English Walnut. The walnut blank came from a tree that was felled at the Black Diamond Walnut Farm in California. The stock was hand-made, bedded (screw-in/pillars) and hand-finished in semi-gloss oil by the late John Maxon. It is shaped similar to an old Sako Varminter with a beavertail fore-end. Included is a Unertl 20x 1-1/2” Target scope in excellent condition with the original instructions.

wasn't this for sale a year or so ago? thought i remember see it for sale and drooling over it. hell i even went and bought a lotto ticket

Very nice! The swindlehurst is the smoothest operating and loading rimfire action I've ever shot. Never owned one, but have shot them, they weren't as nice looking as yours though.

That is amazing..what made you choose a unertl optic..I've been looking at them for a 38-55 ..love that classic look ..how does it perform for you as opposed to a modern optic.

bobcat93, the rifle as pictured was configured and built by Greg Walley (Kelbly gunsmith) and he gets all credit for the build. I bought it as built. In my shooting, it’s totally laid back and relaxed atmosphere as I don’t compete. The externally adjustable scopes are typically a little slower for my use but I really don’t mind. Modern glass can be easier faster and brighter in low light situations depending on depth of pockets. I enjoy the external scopes, I currently own and use a Unertl 36x Programmer, two Unertl 20x bench, two Mitchell 20x, a Remington 20XBR, a Remington 24XBR, and a Bausch & Lomb Balvar 24. Couple more Unertl’s unused, one 16x, two 10x, and a 6x. That being said, I do own and use modern glass also, but some rifles just seem to deserve a little old school class.

Dreamy

Honestly, I have not shot it at this point. Greg said he shot it a little after building it, but put less than 50 rounds thru it..... Short answer, “Don’t know yet.”
