I have groundhogs that have taken up residence under the foundation of an old milk barn. I can't get rid of them and kill a few there every year. Yesterday, another groundhog appeared from under the foundation. All I had with me was a Cricket .22 with a scope on it and shooting cheapo Remington 40gr Thunderbolts. The shot was ~40 yards. At the crack of the rifle, it disappeared back under the foundation. It bothered me that I may have missed so I checked the rifle and it was spot on. I went back with a flashlight and looked under the foundation and sure enough, there she was. I guess the old adage is a gun in hand at the time beats a better one back at the house.
