Another Date With "Plain Jane"

Here's the reamer print of my chamber from PacNor. I didn't ask for any modifications. I simply size a fired (or new) 222 case with a .235 bushing, and then hit half the neck with a .226. Then expand.

I think their .235 neck diameter leaves room for Lapua brass with no turning. jd

Thanks for the print. If you want to sell yours I'm interested.

I may not understand. Are you asking if I'd like to sell my rifle? If so -- nah. Right now, there isn't a single thing I don't like about it, except for the scope, and I'll change that in time. jd

No the reamer, I wasn't very clear, I'm good at that. Your having too much fun with that rifle.

OK, I gotcha. I don't own the reamer. I ordered my barrel chambered, PacNutted, and lopped at 26". Got the largest (#6) sporter contour. jd

That stock was a fifty dollar bill, shipped from Numrich, and I'm so tickled with it I can't hardly shut up. It fits my action so well that I just haven't worried about bedding or pillars, and I don't seem to be suffering from lack of em.

And then he said , "Thanks Snert". :)

Best buy out there for a walnut paddle. I love mine.

JD, you are making me reconsider my pursuit of a 20 VT. However, Nakneker, if you rethink your idea and decide to sell the 788, let me know

Snert

Got my rifle out to shoot a few more groups today. Alfalfa is knee deep, and the squirrels are pretty safe, so I just stuck with paper today. Wind was awful, from 10 to 25 mph and gusting from different directions, but I managed to get a couple of good ones. Shot a dirty barrel, and used the first bull for warming shots. jd

Lookin good JDS!

That's with skanky old brass that's been loaded and fired in the old 222 I don't know how many times. I'm tossing a few into the reject bucket based upon how resistance feels when I expand the necks with my Lee Decapper/.203 decapper shaft. (yeah, totally un-scientific and irresponsible) And no, I don't anneal, and no I'm not getting cracked necks. There's good reason for those groups which have an out-lier or "mulligan; my slip-shod technique.:p

This rifle is like one of those chicks who likes to party, and it doesn't matter if all ya got is Lucky Lager. jd:rolleyes:

Where exactly can I get this "Lucky Lager"?

Well I haven't drank for ALMOST twenty years now, but Lucky used to be one of the most guzzled beers for everybody with bad taste out here. You could party twice as hard, and twice as long with half as much money. Don't know if it's still around or not. jd

Party twice as hard, twice as long, half the cost...gotta love that advertisement! reminds me of a guy I once knew in a City I patrolled. After years of watching him stroll the streets from the 7-11 to his house, I moved. Several years later I was back and saw him again. He was walking behind a line of parked cars. I noticed right away he had developed a limp, and was walking "tilted". Odd. Till he appeared from behind the cars and was only carrying ONE case of Old Mil. It was then I realized I had never seen him carry only ONE, it was always two. If I recall, a case of 36 was about $12. Gawd awful stuff.

Way too funny!

I have drank my share of it. I've never seen cases bigger than 24 though. May be a regional thing. I was kind of like will Rogers. I never met a beer I didn't like.

"Lucky" was one of those beers that we cheap skates would swear was better than "Raineer" or "Blitz".

We used to have a formula that dictated how much beer to take on a camping trip. It basically boiled down to "No less than one case per person per day." And that was frequently a problem because some guys were excessive in their consumption. This problem was usually overcome by the addition of a few half gallons of quality booze such as Wolfschmidt vodka, or Potters Tequilla. jd
