Another cleaning question

Just wondering how many of ya'll take the barreled action out of the stock when cleaning?
I use Sinclair bore quides and understand that they are "supposed" to keep cleaning solution
out of chamber and from getting into bedding of the stock. I use a mix of Kroil and Butches or Hoppes. Just wondering.

Thanks
Bill

They work fine. Still need to swab the chamber dry/clean afterwards, but its not going to dribble back down the chamber into the lug recess and down into the stock bedding.

Nope. They stay in the stock. I just wipe up the extra. The only time I take them out of the stock is if I am going to remove the barrel or they spend a lot of time in the rain. My M1's only come out when the pressure washer is needed.

Never for bolt Action Rifles.

If you using a quality bore guide like Sinclair then there is no need to remove the barrel action from the stock which could change point of impact from cleaning to clearning depending on the bedding and your ability to acheived the same torge on each stock screw.

I use bore guides, but sometimes bore cleaner leaks out... ok my fault... leaks into triggers. I take apart, clean everthing every once in awhile. Find it's better to do so.

Or so least I think so, maybe why I don't do so good. Who knows...

Assuming your bore guide extends into the chamber, try setting up your rifle slightly muzzle-down. Anything that leaks past the bore guide will try to head down the barrel rather than back into internals.
