I shoot 30.6 h4895 and 205s. I have read what causes loose pockets, so how loose do you let them get before retiring them? I had the pockets trued. Now I think that was a mistake, making them larger when they do that so well themselves. My cases are growing in OAL and I wondered where the material was coming from, well it might be coming from the primer pocket. I also had them hydroformed, they must not have been annealed prior because some of the shoulders puckered and look like a @&&#+&. Next time I will fireform and work up my jump - jam and get some much needed bench time. . As far as turning I rather enjoy watching the little curlys roll off.
I'm not complaining just observing with a little of my special humor.

I shoot the exact same load in my BRA as you have listed. I did not have my brass hydro formed I fire formed them myself. At 30.6 g of H 4895 I have no signs of pressure and my primer pockets are still tight as when brass was new. I now have five firing’s on them. I used a century 21 primer pocket uniformer to uniform them when new.

I use 30.6 varget, lapua cases. I have 150 with 20 firings, no loose pockets.
I made them all the same length and they haven't changed.
I never have done more than clean the pockets & anneal.
I did well at 600 yds this year with it.

Just a question for my own knowledge. 150x20 is 3000, is this on 3000 rounds on one barrel?

Thanks,
Don Dunlap

2k on one barrel that is still in decent shape.
New barrel got new brass for match. Old brass used as sighters.

It was suggested to do it that way. However if I mistakenly mix em .... I can't tell old brass from new brass after annealing.
