At 4:30 pm, I noticed a big dark coon on the deer eating away, mind you, the river is 25 feet at most from the bait, in the spare room, shooting room I launched a 17 hornet his way, I was aiming for between the eyes, dead center I was a fraction off, This bruiser was just shy of 30 lbs. Difficult this window shooting is.

When I was a young man I hunted coons with dogs. Quit that a long time ago, but have trapped a lot of them and harvested them using other methods. You didn't kill a coon, you sir killed a hog! A 30 pound coon is huge in my nexk of the woods. You could just about fill a freezer with him. Glad you got him, he is a trophy!

Only time I ever went on a coon hunt I was wearing house shoes and in my underwear.
One of my hunting camp buds had his coon hound and it treed a coon right outside the cabin abound 11:30 one night. As much as we both tried to ignore the constant baying of the dog and sleep, we finally had to go outside and see what it was making all the noise about. Sure enough there is was out on a limb wondering how that hound got there. My bud said he was obliged to "hunt it" since the dog did its job so well.
