Are the competitors automatically entered into the leader board from the match results from that match director's submission?

if Joe Smoe finishes 2nd at the Carpet Baggers State Championship but doesn't know about the FPS, is that competitor's score kept on the FPS leader board? or is each competitor in charge of keeping the FPS leader board committee up to date on their scroes?

They are - and actually, anyone can submit results from a match they attended or want to be considered for inclusion. You don't have to wait for the MD to do so necessarily.

At the moment, I'm maintaining the leaderboard - I have a script that parses results and spits out the names to be added or updated with points. Eventually, I would like to write a function that will take uploaded results, parse them, and automagically update the leaderboard, but that's a little ways out yet.

And - if we miss a match or something, it can be submitted at any time during the year. As long as it happened during the FPS season (March 1 - Feb 28/29), we can easily add results retroactively. We don't want to miss anyone that wants to be included.

It's a credit to the work that Ian, Drew, Tod, John, Dan and Erik have put in with me on this, that this has reached this point. They all have really excellent "jay, stop being a dumbass" skills and much of this would not conceptually exist without them.

To me it favors the guy that goes out and puts in the work regardless of your classification. The more matches you shoot the better your odds of earning points. The more matches you shoot the better you will become as a shooter. The more ranges you shoot the more tools in the tool bag (you can never have to many tools).....I'm fighting for the 32nd spot, once in, all I have to do is beat the guy laying next to me on a level playing field.....anyone can be neat on any given day.....try to be the windshield and not the bug.

Just my perspective.

I was looking at the points list. What is the Midwest Long Range Nationals? Where was this held? I see lots of FTR shooters received points for this match, but there’s no open shooters. I’m curious because I’ve never heard of the match before.

The full name was "Buckeye Blossom Long Range Midwest Nationals" held at Alliance Rifle Club on August 9. Big turnout for HP and FTR, not as much for F-Open. I'm sure with a little Google work you can find out more about it if you are interested. I think it might be a relatively new match.

Interesting format, but obviously set up for high master open class .To prove my point, how many national or even State champions have not been open class?

To disprove your point, the CA State Palma Champion, F-Open for 2020 (which counts for F-Class Points Series) was an Expert! In fact the top 2 F-Open shooters were Experts. Second Place Overall in the F-Class category was an FTR Master.

Anyone can sign up to be a member of the club on Practiscore, to receive any annoucements regarding the series:

... membership is free. It's simply for update/announcement purposes only.

The wait list is based on points accumulated throughout the year by a shooter, and so appearing on it means you have scored at least 1 point (it's not sign-up based) at some point in the 2020-2021 season.

Show up. Sign in. Shoot at the line on your own time/schedule.

In other words, the practice is not managed by us. The range is open early and late (similar to Raton) and you can foul/sight it as much as you want. Doesn't even have to be at the 1000 yard line, if you want to use one of the shorter ranges.

Same deal for each day after the match, if you want to clean/foul/practice/etc...
