Announcement for 1000 Yard Nationals @ Hawks Ridge

For those of you planning on attending Nationals, please make sure you have feet for your rest. The tops of the benches were refurbished recently and feet are a must. If you don’t have feet, you will not be allowed to shoot. There will be extras for sale at the range, but supplys will be limited. Please help spread the word. Thanks
Blake

I guess I don't understand the Concrete, we just put plywood on the tops and flip them or sand them when they get beat up.

That is the way it had been for many years @ Hawks Ridge, but with the concrete there have been zero issues either. The feet on a solid surface are more stable than pounding into wood anyway. Hopefully the amount of notice we are trying to get out there, we will not have many if any issues with it. Hope to see you there Joe!

Okay - Thanks Guys - appreciate your feedback.

I just ordered a set of the 3" ones. - I'm planning to make it to this event, hopefully work will stay on its current schedule so that it can happen.

I guess their benches are "sensitive", kind of like most of the millennials. edit LOL

Ill try to let the people know that I know are going down there, so they dont drive so far only to not be allowed to shoot.

Don’t understand your negative comments. Everyone will be allowed to shoot if they need to borrow feet. It’s very simple actually.

Thank You,
Mike

I edited the first part, I forgot the LOL.

The second part is not a joke, as I will let some of the folk I know going down there to make sure they have them. Not everyone (myself included) has pads for the feet of my rest. I wont be down that weekend, as I have to work. But I certainly dont want my friends turned away.

Also, this clearly states otherwise. Now people offering to lend theirs out is a nice gesture. Not all matches you go to people are that friendly, especially to out of towners it seems.

I apologize if I upset you.

The original post was probably a little more harsh than it needed to be, which is my fault. My main point was for everyone to understand that they are a must to shoot. 90% of the shooters from the range would let someone barrow, but with the efforts and length of time until the event hopefully most have the proper equipment.
Thanks
Blake

Its not uncommon. We have rubber mats for the benches to protect them here. I bet you shoot better off super feet than points on the concrete anyhow ;) Have a good match guys!
I totally agree with you in that aspect my rifles track better by having the rubber washers under it an I commend the club for not waiting to the last minute assuring the shooters what you need.
