Thanks bud you’re right !!! But thank god them people help keep economy going in the sport we love .You do not have to purchase an AMP to anneal. It's always the latest and greatest that most on here will lead you too. Plenty of good information in the archives on this site for annealing going years back.
I climbed out of this rabbit hole while i could still reach the top!!..You do not have to purchase an AMP to anneal. It's always the latest and greatest that most on here will lead you too. Plenty of good information in the archives on this site for annealing going years back.

This is exactly why I do it and I'm not very good but I try to eliminate everything that could hurt my score..........except me!Most guys are using annealing to try to wring one more drop of consistency out of their neck tension for competition guns.
Ok thanks good informationThere's plenty of DIY annealer plans out there. I made one with just a single drum and have to feed each case by hand. Not an issue for me, but if you did a lot of cases that would prob be a pain. I do it in a darkened room, just light enough to see what I'm doing. Then I look at the dark side of the brass, opposite the flame, to monitor. I have 20 or so pieces of test brass that I use to set it. Once there is a faint glow, that's the setting.

Agreed, Unless you're a top-level shooter where the matches are decided by .001 or less the AMP is overkill. Lots of world records were broken using a Torch! You do not have to purchase an AMP to anneal.

An inexpensive induction setup that works pretty well:What’s best way to Anneal brass how do you guys do it ?
Ok thanks how long do you keep heat on ?An inexpensive induction setup that works pretty well:
I don't use the auto-timer hookup, just use my cell phone timer manually.
That video isn’t the one I learned from but perfectly illustrated the flame color change and I trust cortina’s opinion a lot.
Some brass ~1 sec, some ~ 3 sec. Depends on the brass manufacturer. Generally, however long it takes for the brass to just barely start to turn red.Ok thanks how long do you keep heat on ?
