Annealing

Hello.

I'd need to select the proper temp indicator. Would you provide
answers? What would you suggest which is better - and why?

- The Tempilag or Tempilstick?
- Is 700F,371C) ok?
I've built an annealing carousel by which I'll do that.

Some people have said here that the indicator turns black.
Is that ok? When the correct temp is reached?

I have two options in giving the heat: LPG and gas welding
equipment. How many seconds should be enough? Actually I've
already annealed cases with it, I applied some 1.7 seconds flame
time with LPG,two torches heating from both sides). I'm not sure was that enough, but the case mouth thickness is something like 0.35mm,0.014"), it heats up quite fast. LPG flame is about 1300C hot,2400F).

I think I built a better than the one that is in the
"Annealing" part here :) since my carousel speed is adjustable.
I've used a controller and two stepper motors in rotating.
I'll put an optical counter in it too.

That temp stuff should turn to a liquid when the stated temp is reached, and it should be down on the shoulder a ways so the flame don't burn it. 700 seems way to hot to me.
I did some 25/284 cases the other day by hand and ran them in the flame from a propane burner for 10 seconds and they turned out perfect.
Shine the cases up to a bright shine, and if you get them to hot the shine will disappear. You want to end up with a small Blue line just down from the shoulder -neck junction..... I hope the photo will help.
