annealing thoughts

I see some annealers stop in the flames ( 2 torches ) and some pass by one flame then go to a 2nd flame never stopping. I would think it would be harder to get the right temp. when the case is not right at the first flame so it has to go to a 2nd flame. I think having it stop , reach the right temp. then move on would be best. That is like hand annealing.
What i am not sure on is if the case needs to be turned while it sits in between two flames at 180 deg. to each other.
The passing by two flames would be like hand annealing and pass the case through the flame once then do it again. Why wounting you leave it in the flame untill it reached the right temp. ?
I would like to know about turning the case while annealing.
So far i have been hand annealing with the case in a deep socket in a drill. I am working on making an annealer to make it more mecantial and better timming in the flame. Any help?

The Benchsource annealer has two torches and the case turns as it is annealed, when it reaches the specified time, it moves on and another takes it's place.

It's been a while since I annealed brass but here's the technique I used. It's slow but it works. Get some sort of Lazy Susan or turntable. Put a bowl of water in the middle. Put something in bowl of water to make a stand about 1/2" below the water line. Stand brass in middle. While turning the turntable play torch on upper inch of brass. Tap brass to drop into the water. Repeat.

Keeping the base in the water prevents overheating and annealing the base.
