Annealing schedule

A little off track, but . . .
How many trial cases does it take to get a Bench Source, or other similar brand, set up for correct flame and plate speed each time its used?
I've only got a few hundred 6 Dasher brass, and would only anneal 100 or so at a time. If it takes 4-5 cases to get the flame and plate speed correct for each use (and those cases might get ruined), it would reduce my 50/box or 100/box sorted brass setup.

Doesn't take me any cases. I know the dial setting and how to position the torches. I do that and go.

The first time you do a particular type of case it might take one or two, but you can use junk brass and you can use it over again. I keep some 6BR and 6Dasher cases in a little jar with the machine in case I need to do setup tasks, but usually I don't

I have mine done every 3 firings by an annealing service. I can't afford what they are asking for these case annealers or I would anneal after every firing. I also don't trust myself or my consistency of doing it with a torch, drill and socket.

Charles, What does an annealing service charge? Might be an idea for another business? Bob

I bet if you are going to do anything to brass like annealing for money, you better have a damn good insurance liability policy. Customers can/will blame you when something goes wrong. Even if it isn't your fault, you will have to defend yourself.
