Annealing machines

Does anyone have any information on a Giraud annealing machine, I need all the feed back I can get. Thank you, Jerry

I have had mine for about a year and have had no problems with it. It works great for me.

I've had my Giraud for 2 years and it's great. Well designed, well built and easy to use. All of the other annealer designs force you to sit by the machine and feed 1 case at a time. To me, one of THE main selling points was the ability to fill the hopper with brass and be able to do other reloading tasks simultaneously.

If your annealing hundreds, the Giraud is the only way to go. I believe you have to change the wheels and adjust them for different calibers. It's a great machine.

I can anneal 150 pieces in 15 minutes with a BenchSource, different calibers don't matter, but you do have to hand feed them.

Your choice, but the above is the only 2 choices in my shop.

I never tried one, but I do have a Benchsource.

I don't know which one is "better", but you should DEFINATLY get one of the two if you intend to anneal. Worlds better than any "cheap" way.

Had both, Giraud and Benchsource, both great machines. For doing 1000's of same case the Giraud is better, for 100's or less of many different size cases the Benchsource is better.

I got an offer I could not refuse for the Giraud so now I have just the Benchsource. I do not do 1000's of same case so I am happy, I would be happy with either. I would/will not anneal with out a machine, even if I only had 20 cases a week to do I would spring for a machine now that I have used them.

You ask for opinions of the Girauld. There are two annealers mentioned in the above posts, so I'll add what I think of both.

Have both. Actually part owner of the Benchscorce, and owner of the Girauld. They both work great.

It takes a couple minutes to change the wheels for different calibers for the Girauld, but it takes a minute or so to adjust the wheel of the Benchsorce also so it centers the round on the turntable.

The Benchscorce is probably quicker because it has two torches, but you have to sit and feed it round by round.

The Girauld you can load hundreds in the hopper, and let it do its thing.

IMO, if I was in the market, I would get the Girauld, only because I can do something else while its working, even if its just kicking back and watching a ball game.

Just sold mine. I loved it, but I wasn't shooting enough to justify it. Fast, accurate and little fuss. If you can afford it, go with it and never look back.
