Annealer fuel

I just built an annealer. Which gas as nozzles do I need. I have heard different stories about this.

I can put two burners on my system.

Which gas?

Which burners?

Thanks, Dennis

Dennis,

I used 2 of these torches on my Benchsource annealer. Have a 20 lb. propane tank plumbed into my unit.

It looks like if you buy torch and tank, it's the same price. Pretty good deal.

I used MAPP gas (yellow tanks) when annealing with a single torch using my cordless drill. Worked good. However, I prefer using propane as the fuel with my dual torch setup as the flame has less heat and I feel that I get more controllable results.

I can tell you that coleman fuel did not work for me. I had an oily substance spew out onto the annealer and tips quit working on my BernzOmatic torches. I would dicourage you on trying the Coleman fuel. I am at some point going to try using a 20 lb. LP tank like is commonly used for gas grills. Long story short, hopefully someone will post on here what is working well for them. While i was typing, I see a helpful post has been sent.
