I thought so, I just didn't understand what benchrest shooting and hold off had to do with it.

Your above post is getting close, but still no cigar. The group will remain centered, as you said, but will be approximately 1.5 times as wide, not twice. The vertical will remain the same. I'm sure there's a formula that will give you the exact horizontal measurement.

My bad. Actually, we're both wrong, but you're a lot closer: The group is doubled at 60 degrees. It's 1.5 times at 48 degrees and change. The formula is,1 / cos angle) * group width.

John got it right. A shot to the left of center will move to the left and a shot to the right of center will move to the right.

But again, at the risk of repeating myself, the original question, I think, was, will the group move to the left or right depending on the angle? Again, no it won't. It will still be centered.

Agreed. I thought that's what Mike was trying to say, but now I'm not entirely sure.

many apologise for causing all this confusion was a debate i was having with a mate.anyway did a few test and found the rounds still struck the aimpoint even if the target was at an angle.thanks for all the in depth responses on this subject .sorry once again for causing all this confusion.
