There were exactly 2 F-Class shooters at the Midwest Palma that year, so it wasn't overflowing with popularity then. Even still, the US put together a pretty good team for the World's.

Most f-classers are old, it's hard to remember the sport is so young.

Well I guess so. What other sport let's you lay down while you are competing? A lot of old farts can still shoot!!

We were signing up for a Palma Match in Oregon last weekend. Young man who was looking for the club Open House came by, looked at the 1000yd. line and wanted to know all about it. Gave him the speech describing prone shooting and he thought it was pretty cool. Then he asked why we were there at 8am. Told him how long a match might take. His reply? "Hell only old people get up that early".
Don't think we will be seeing him again...We just may be doomed as a sport. Perhaps we should change to night time long range shooting.

I started around 2000 or 2001 with a 260 off a bipod. Had the first full race purpose built f-class gun around my area. Things have definitely changed.
