AMT actions

I asked on BR central. I'll ask here too. Does anyone know much about AMT rifle actions? Are they any good? Any info would be awesome.

Are you speaking of Arcadia Machine and tool which made the 10/22 knockoff and the AMT Backup pistol, along with various other 1911 clones and such?

I did a little research on these actions some time back after seeing one for sale. i think they are a pretty solid action worth around 600 bucks for a real nice one. i dont remember much more than that, other than i passed on it for something else i was more familiar with. good luck!! Lee

Yeah Arcadia machine and tool. I have only found a you tube video and that's it. i remember a member had one for sale awhlile back but can't remember the info. I think they have a remy thread with longer tennon. Round action about 8" long. Takes a remy trigger. I do not know for sure. I thought the guy selling it said they are similar to a 40x and come trued from the factory. Some one out there knows. I see these from time to time but have never paid that close attention to them.

I had one a couple of years ago. they were set up for a rem style trigger. mine was a right bolt, left port. had a fluted bolt. it was a really nice action. the bolt was smooth as silk. I liked it a bunch, just not the caliber in was set up in. it was on the heavy and long side, but it didn't matter to me since I didn't use shooting light varmint br or anything. just a g-hog gun. It was solid bottom, etc. very solid action.

I've got one mounted in a Shehane MBR stock in 6.5-284. Very smooth, uses the Rem style trigger mount. I would place them right with your better Rem clones. It's been awhile since I built it up but if I remember correctly I had to have the rear mount drilled, the std Rem 700 spacing was correct for the rear but the radius was the same as the front. Had to take a front mount and drill a third hole. You can usually find them in the 4-600.00 range, I bought mine off GB for 325.00 so it was a deal.
