AMT actions

I recently ran across a 6mm Ackley rifle with a shilen barrell and an AMT bolt action single shot.I like the caliber for prairie dogs but I am unfamiliar with the AMT action.I have seen numerous AMT guns but never before have I seen an AMT custom action. Are any of you owners of such an action?Have any experience with AMT actions?
Thanks for your help.Marty

Marty, there are a few members of our club who have long-range prone rifles built on the AMT actions; they shoot very well and don't appear to have any problems. They were made under another name also, but I can't remember it right now.

I had an AMT actioned rifle several years ago that richard franklin had built. it was a very accurate rifle, and it was one beefy action. very, very smooth bolt. i liked it a lot. only thing i didn't like was caliber. 22-6mm ackley. shot faster than anything i have ever owned and would clover leaf 3 shots any day. barrel life????? sold it before i did it in. actions were/are very nice. i would still rather have a BAT thou.

I've got an AMT action for sale. Right bolt, left port, .473 boltface. Excellent condition. Sell for $525, delivered to your FFL.
