They will. Why compete with yourself? Especially when the free testing brings in no revenue.Have to wonder if they will be dropping this service to help push the sales of Aztec.

We should probably archive the published data on the website. It may disappear soon. --Jerry
"Free testing" was part of the package you initially purchased. Would be fun to see how they explain taking that away from those purchasers.
It is a PITA to send cases to New Zealand to get the exact program, when changing brass lots or manufacturers.
If this is as simple as Alex says, it should save some time. I often wonder about the program I am using on brass I have not sent for testing. This upgrade could solve that, if it doesn't cost another arm & a leg.
Wouldn't need coffee - especially that stuff - to enjoy the show. That and $6.50 will get you a cup of coffee at Starbucks.
I don't think they will do that. I believe the free testing will be phased out over a reasonable timeframe (6 months?). I hope the software upgrade will be offered to existing owners (like me) at a reduced price.I hope they don't pull that stunt, but...
Well, got my brass segregated, boxed up, filled out the export papers, drove 20 miles to a PO, paid $35 for Priority Mail and waited 2 weeks & heard nothing. Emailed Alex, he hadn't received it. Drove back to PO and found USPS guy that traced it (tracking showed delivered the week before). It was at the NZ import officials, pending delivery to Alex. Finally got delivered a few days later. How do you know it is a PITA? I sent about four batches off. Just as easy as sending it to the next town. I had an email in 3-4 days with all the info on my batches. Amazing service.
I would like the upgrade myself but I'm afraid it will cost multiple limbs! We'll know soon, I hope!
You guys buy up all you can. I’m going to wait on somebody to get a divorce and need money and sell theirs.

Our recent reveal of the AZTEC mode has caused quite a stir and now that we have a moment we would like to clear up some of the misconceptions and assumptions we have noticed.
1. AZTEC mode is NOT a firmware upgrade nor a patch to the existing software.
(We are aware that we called it such when we made our original Facebook post and that we referred to it as an "update" in the video but this is simply not the case. We have amended the original Facebook post to reflect this.)
AZTEC is entirely new software which runs the annealer in a completely different way when compared to to the original software. It is installed along side the current software and runs separate when selected.
2. AZTEC is an optional purchase and will not effect the price of the annealer itself. AZTEC will be an optional extra with all future machines.
3 The free calibration service for customers WILL continue and remain free of charge. The settings page will continue to be updated.
4. Firmware patches to update both AZTEC and the standard modes when required will be free of charge. (We will be releasing a large one soon after we get back from shot show which will unlock additional programs up to 160 in standard mode for the WSSM family of cases. We would like to include the auto feeder software with this patch but we cant promise it at this stage)
5. AZTEC wasn't made for free.
We are only two guys here at AMP, neither of us with the knowledge to write software, nor conduct the more in depth metallurgical research required to test our findings. It took the combined efforts of multiple outside contractors, as well as our local university, to enable us to correlate all the data and observations and create AZTEC.
All this has been going on over the last two years.
It is perfectly normal for companies to charge for additional software which fundamentally changes the operating nature of a product and we believe the price of AZTEC reflects the costs and effort involved in making it a reality.
6. Because we have only just lodged our patent for this new technology we can't say exactly how it works but we can say this: We have created an algorithm which is based off what we know about brass annealing times and power settings.
AZTEC mode has the ability to establish known datum points when performing the Analysis function.
We apply the result from the analysis into the algorithm and it gives us a setting which anneals that brass to our desired hardness.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------
With that all said we can say that Shot Show is going very well and people who see AZTEC in the flesh are blown away by it. Also the AUTO feeder is working very well (however we wish we had a 110 volt Dillon as ours is 220 and wont work here![]()
.
We hope this clears everything up and we will keep you updated.
Thank you. It's starting to make more sense now. Sounds like we jumped the gun. Won't be first time or the last.,lolWell, here's a little more actual info, in lieu of the current rampant speculation![]()
That answers all the questions for me. It's goods to hear it from "the horse's mouth." It's a good company and seems to truly value its customers. I will be buying the Aztec.Thank you. It's starting to make more sense now. Sounds like we jumped the gun. Won't be first time or the last.,lol
