AMP Aztec analyzing Question

If you wet tumble it really doesn’t matter but if you dry tumble and leave carbon in, the numbers will slightly change but it’s rarely enough to make a real difference but I have seen a difference. Same thing if you turn necks. Always try to test brass in the same condition that you’d actually load it.

F Class John -If I'm not mistaken, it was one of your videos where you did the whole analysis on the AMP and you actually used more than one piece of brass from a batch and used the average Aztec code?

Point being - if you're as stingy as I am with Lapua brass (thank goodness they always add that one extra in the box) - then most of us will only have one Aztec sample anyways - and I would postulate, that even if you are a bit off from the "real" Aztec value, you're still going to be in a better place than you ever will be with a flame... But yes, absolutely, Aztec the brass in the closest-to-fire-ready state you can get it.

I analyzed both. Fired brass had been annealed numerous times prior to getting the AMP. Expect fired and unfired to be different and turned necks also will be different.
