AMP annnealing machine

I saw it in action. It is without any doubt the best machine out there in my humble opinion. The repeatability anf safety factor is reason enough for me and my shooting buddy to go in hals on one.

I have an AMP due in either today or tomorrow. Great service from AMP , I was at work when the phone rang.
Alex Findlay, the President of AMP was calling me to alert me to a recent software upgrade and not to run the unit until the upgrade was completed. He also suggested to wait until my donor samples of .220 AI & 22/250 AI brass had been analysed before annealing any cases. Due to the change of shoulder angle of AI rounds and their position in the 'air gap ' there may just be an alteration in the annealing time over standard cases.
Pretty darn good service if you ask me.
The thing I like about the AMP among others, is I won't have to re-calibrate the propane unit I built when changing from one cartridge to another, just need to select the appropriate setting within the unit and use the correct insert.
I will be doing, .220 AI- 22/250 AI- .260REM-.308 -.303 Brit- .300 Win Mag and a 6XC when I build it!

regards
Mike.

Got mine last week. I borrowed a friends benchsource once before, it worked well but setup was a pain. The AMP is really great, been flying through brass ever since.

On my looooong list of wants...........

That darn list never seems to get any shorter...

Phil.

Anybody have a first hand experience with the new AMP annealing machine? Your thoughts?

IMO, for the money, it is the best annealer out there.

I have similar one that a friend made for me ( see
). If I didn't already have one, that's the one I'd buy.

Just did my first 20 Win .308 cases on the AMP, annealing time is about 4 seconds per case at setting 41 for Win cases , so 80 seconds for 20 cases plus the handling time, all up about 5 minutes for 20.
Lapua cases took about 4.5 seconds at setting 92. But that probably reflects my reaction time on the stop watch.
I have 300 Win & about 500 Lap cases to deprime and clean, ready for a knock down drag out annealing party, my buddy is bringing the single malt and his .300 Win Mag cases, got some Classic movies ready to go, Dirty Dozen, Red River, True Grit!;) And all in my living room! The wimmin are doing Tupperware or something :p

Worth having a look at the AMP Facebook page, pallets of AMP units ready for shipping all over the planet and 200 + units shipped out so far.
