AMP annealing made easy - no power

Hello,

Has anyone ever experienced the the new Mark II not turning on? I replaced the fuse, per the instructions (actually a second one was included) still no power.

First time setting up this morning, have already reached out to AMP but was hoping I might get something to check before Monday.

Thanks for any input

I had the plug on the unit no longer make reliable contact with the wire that plugs into it. Amp was great and replaced it without charge or shipping to NZ. Great product and service.

thanks, good to know...was just looking forward to trying it out this weekend.

If my AMP had been DOA, I would have been really disappointed. Alex & Matt Findlay will promptly make things right.

I don’t know if it would void your warranty or not but get a voltmeter and start tracing power

I am betting it does, it appears that it is put together with rivets or I would probably have done down this road anyway.

From AMP’s warranty web page...

What is NOT covered

This warranty does not cover damages of the ANNEALER/AMP MATE due to normal wear and tear such as paint scratches, dust or moisture ingestion and or component wear, or damages to the unit or property as a result of improper use or tampering. In the case of the annealer, the warranty will be void if any of the seals within are broken or if any of the exterior fasteners have been tampered with. The annealer runs on potentially lethal voltages. It contains no user serviceable parts within. It is the user’s responsibility use the unit as intended in the manual to ensure long lasting and safe operation. Our judgement on what is wear and tear and what is abuse is final. We are however reasonably flexible when it comes to claims and will endeavour to ensure a favourable outcome.

The power cord is detachable and appears to be the same as what comes with any desktop PC. Have you tried swapping the cord out or tested the cord with a volt meter?

What was the outcome of your Mark II Power issue? I turned mine on yesterday and the fuse blew, so did the replacement. Today I received some additional fuses tried a different outlet and no luck, fuses still blew.
