AMP annealer

Just got it delivered today and tested it out on 50 pieces of .223 Lapua brass. It's amazingly fast and I had a hard time keeping up with it. Plus I emailed a question to Alex at AMP in New Zealand and he replied in just a few minutes. Sure can't beat that. I think this machine is definitely worth it.

I used a home built Skip's Annealer for a few years. It worked great. Then finances were good, and curiosity got the better of me. Now, I actually look forward to annealing. While doing so, I ponder to myself, "I wonder what the poor folks are doing right now?". I love mine!!

FYI if that’s a Teflon coated pan I’d find one that is plain metal instead. The hot brass could scorch the Teflon and that creates unhealthy off-gassing. Particularly the test piece which is just at the melting point.

Or just lay plain aluminum foil down over it.

Once it is paid for you will never think about how much it cost. Love mine use mine after every firing because of how easy and fast it is to use.

Yup, going to use it after every firing since it's fast and simple. Did 150 pieces of .223 Lapua brass this morning in no time and got 200 all neck sized. Right now the powder fills take the longest since I use CM and drop a little light and trickle the rest in manually. The FX120 and Autotrickler should show up next week and make that a lot faster. Can't wait to use a more accurate scale.

DO NOT bake your brass in the oven...it's doable, but if you use it for food i would not. Also, i'd think many of your wives would be pissed off LoL.

sun dry it or buy a dehydrator, its cheap.

Question why is the Aztec mode better than Standard mode? I wish it would just give both numbers so you can use either mode.

Not necessarily better, but it'll save you time. Instead of sending your 1XF brass to New Zealand for them to figure out a code for you to use. Aztec will do this for you within <1min. However, Aztec and Standard Codes ARE DIFFERENT. DO NOT interchange those.

How much is that rig?
I think the amp mate is $300 and then you need a Dillon or Hornady hopper. I made the holder out of pvc, super easy. In all fairness the AMP Mates had some issues in the beginning and still have been known to be finicky. However, once you get it tuned it’s amazing.
