Amp annealer mark 1 question.

Several months back I bought a amp mk1
Successfully installed Aztec. Question is, with the mark 1, how many pieces of brass can I run before I have to let it cool off? And how long do I need to wait before I continue?

Thanks

I usually only stop when the bronze shell holder gets too hot......that is @ 150 to 200 6BR variant cases, and that is with the MK 1 model.

I've run over 200 pieces of .284 Win/ 7 Sherman Short consecutively with no tripping of the thermal overload switch. Run it until the switch trips; it will need to cool for about 15 minutes before it will reset depending on ambient temperature. I've only had it trip once doing near 350 6.5 x55 Imp cases and that was before the AZTEC mode was added (it tripped somewhere under 200 pieces IIRC). I have had no trips running in AZTEC mode.

edit-^^^^^ that is usually my limiting factor....shell holder temperature. I have two so I can swap and cool one down while I use the other. Usually 75 rounds and it is getting quite heat soaked and toasty. A quick spray with 'canned air' inverted will cool down the holder effectively just don't get frost burn on your fingers!

Cool. Thanks guys. What is the difference between the mark 1 and the mark 2? Bette cooling and comes with Aztec. Anything else?

Big enough for 50bmg is also a change I believe.

I've also never tripped cool down while running the Amp Mate. 300ish 308 cases.

I've never had the need to nor desire to push mine to it's limit. On average I probably anneal 60 cases in a single hit, but that's generally all I require with my weekly reloading schedule. If I'm preparing for a larger match, I'll crank out 100 cases in a hit and never had an issue.

I've never tripped the Mark1 with Aztec. Often, I've run 250 cases after fireforming a new brass lot. I wouldn't worry about it, if you run enough cases to trip it, you'll be needing a break anyway.
