American Rifle Company, Xylo Chassis

By chance has anyone experimented with a ARC Xylo Chassis for sling prone shooting from 300-1,000 yards? Your thoughts / comments.

I have no doubt that one would work, but it has a lot of design features that are not really for the discipline. If you have a hand stop that will go on the Arca rail you should be in business.

In the end, and especially for sling shooting, all stocks can work it’s a matter of finding the one that works for you

That’s a creative solution printing a forend. The website indicated the forearm has a integral Anschutz slot. Interesting. I am a little concerned about rigidity aft of the pistol grip. I have UMRS system and it’s extremely ridgid. Really enjoy shooting it.

You don't need a handstop to test it, attach a sling and take it to the range. Ar15 pistol grips are just plastic held on with a screw, theyre steong enough, and you shouldn't be torquing the stock that much anyway. Unless you plan to go hand to hand in the pits, it's probably strong enough.

That's my rifle in the picture above.
The XYLO does have an Anschutz rail on the bottom side, and you can use it directly. The bottom of the stock is wide and flat - it felt really good shooting it in prone that way.

I added the 3D-printed riser mostly for standing and sitting, to get the gun up where I wanted it.
I could have made a riser that is removeable for prone shooting, but I found that I am very stable with a higher torso position, so I decided to add the riser and leave it.

Ross
