Chuck Yeager, a proud American, aviation pioneer, gun rights activist and Mountaineer, has died. Was virtually impossible to grow up in the 50's in the Mountain State and not know about Colonel Yeager. Even 6 year olds knew how fast sound traveled and all about the Bell X series aircraft .

Sad news for sure. Wow what a life he lived though. He packed much more than most in his time on Earth. May you Rest In Peace Chuck Yeager.

One of my favorite and often used quotes attributed to Capt. Yeager supposedly proclaimed during an interview about what it took to become an ace is "I'd rather be lucky than good".

Just think, the most interesting experience/story most of us will have in our life would have probably been forgotten about if it had happened to him. Sad to see him go, but if anyone lived a full life it was him

We’ve got a pretty awesome group of 20-something to 40-something Special Forces personnel who are quiet heroes today. In our current environment it’s probably better that they are appreciated but not with a spotlight.

He was a patriot and a crazy man in an airplane(X-15) doing some ungodly speed but he was the best of best and he will be sorely missed by many as he was my hero growing up.
