I don't know if chambered barrels are covered under ITAR but may be foreign buyers. The bidding list does look suspect though. On another note, awhile back a forum member was asking questions about used barrels. He thought you could just screw one on and go shoot.

That's insane! Costs less to buy and chamber up a nice high end BRAND NEW SS Krieger in any contour or caliber!

I have sold a few barrel on Ebay and it is strange to say the least. A used threaded sporter .308 barrel is like gold and went for $210 while a couple of brand new take offs went for $68 & $79. I even specified the twist....maybe I gave too much info ?? Nowhere near $600 though and that guy hardly gave any info.

Anywhere you are in an auction scenario there are bound to be surprises, and never forget P.T. Barnum's famous words of wisdom, "There's a sucker born every minute.".

Not all of the surprises are what we would consider stupid high bids though; 6 years ago I took my wife to a local house, grounds and contents auction just because she'd never been to an auction - she had a ball, and my $5.00 Poulen chainsaw is still going strong - the chainsaw crowd just wasn't at that particular auction....
