Altor Corp single shot

Altor Corp is making a single shot 380 pistol. Shell holder in frame, slip in cartridge, twist on barrel and shoot. $119.00. Just in time for the riots so every one can have one. You can't get a baby Browning but you can this thing cause it is made in the USA. I bet $90 is profit.

Cheap, Saturday Night Special,,,,,, but you'll still need to pass a background check to take possession of one........ And then, there are those honest, law abiding citizens that can not afford a $350-$500 pistol for self protection. One shot is better than no shots when you really need it. There are 2 sides to every story.

I totally agree with you, if I was looking at that wouldn't a high point be a way better choice? How sure are you that a 380 is a one shot killer? on that single shot a reload is a long way off. I bought a used victory S&W for $150. I needed a little work but it is light years ahead of that. Can you still get a raven???

Hi Point......I use to describe to a gun evaluation publication that had no advertising,I forget what it was called but it exists on subscriptions only. In other words....unbiased testing. In an end of year issue one year they noted that in the entire history of their test they only had one gun maker that they had never had one jam or stoppage in testing. You guessed it... Hi point. For a nightstand pistol might be a great choice even if its ugly.

I looked at cheap guns and there are several Taurus semi autos in 9mm and 380 that are at or below the $200 mark, Ruger LCP, High Points, Kel Tec, SCCY, and Heritage single actions. There are several heritage guns that are $149. What happened to all the cheap pocket pistols Raven , Lorcin, and the like? I am looking for something small and light not necessarily cheap. Who bought Routbaugh? they had made it way more affordable and I kinda liked them

When things go bad I want to have the cheapest gun on the market in my hand.
One thing you can be sure of is when the bad guys leave they will not steal your gun.

I have my dads 12 gage Stevens single shot. He passed on Jan 15 and my brother won the coin toss and got the really nice S&W top brake in 38 S&W nickle plated with ivory grips. I got the Stevens. As I remember it kicks like a mule, if the bad guys come in single file slowly over an hour or so I maybe OK.

There are lots of senior citizens out there that have come to the conclusion that they need some sort of personal protection. Many don't have the strength in the grip to grasp the slide on a semi auto pistol and pull it back to chamber the first round. I know that as a fact as I've had countless requests from seniors to "make it easier" to rack the slide. You can't. The recoil spring is a certain weight for a reason. Police surplus S&W Model 10s aren't $150 any more, either. And the ones I see are from the bottom of the barrel. The basic idea of self protection with a weapon is to stop the attack so you can escape. That doesn't mean you have to kill the attacker to halt the attack. I'm not aware of anyone who's willing and eager to take a 9mm Luger slug. I live in a Constitutional Carry state. If you're a law abiding citizen you can carry a concealed pistol/revolver. I rarely feel the need to carry, but when I do, I have a reliable CZ .380 loaded with hollow point self defense rounds. I am of the mind that anyone who is worth shooting once is worth shooting twice. I hope I never have to use it But, if 1 is all you have its still better than none! Just look at how many 2 shot Derringers are available in everything from .22LR to .45 Long Colt.

I wouldnt call rohrbaugh cheap- they were going for $1200 at the end with a 100rd life expectancy. Best pocket pistol ever made. Remington bought them and slaughtered them. Had to make it a 380, added safeties and slide stops or whatever and cheapened them up so bad they are unrecognizable now from the roots. Another victim of remington’s wisdom. A $1200 pocket pistol with hardly any parts and over a year wait with a huge backlog should be a goldmine- just change the brand stamp you’d think. Its the only pocket pistol ive ever trusted without putting at least 100rds thru it for reliability
