Alternate powder choices in BRA..?

I had extremely good results with 6BRA during Houston winter and spring time. Now that it’s consistenyly 11000° I’m getting weird pressure spikes. Sometimes extremely hard bolt lift and other times super smooth.

Prior to this I had developed a load with Varget that just doesn’t shoot as good as H4895. Looking for something super accurate as the h4895 was.... but also maybe clean burning. But super accurate without the spikes in Texas Sun would be awesome...

It's the decoppering agent, I bet.

I found N140 a little too fast for 105s and didn't give enough speed but again it was very accurate.

Any idea where we can find begining load data for 8208, N150, AR Comp, etc.

I would think starting loads for a regular 6BR would be a good place to start.

Hodgdon has N140 right between RL15 and Varget. I have 2 pounds of it so I might give it a try

I have a friend who shoots a 6mmBR with 105 Hybrids. He uses N140, however, his load is 28.7grs and is barely in the lower 2700f.p.s. range. BUT it is not far from a max load in his rifle. I have used N150 and found it to be just about right on top of Varget. I can guarantee you that N140 is faster than both RL-15 and Varget. I know that Viht states in their burn rate chart that it is about like Varget>>>but it 'taint. They also show that N150 is in the burn rate range of H414, which is very close to H4350. However, like N140, in real world application, it is just about like Varget.

I struggled to get 2900fps with N140 from the same barrel and bullet that would do 3000fps with H4895

33.0gr of N150 gave me great accuracy and 2970fps

was it too bulky to add some? what was the H4895 shooting for group size?My H4895 will shoot well over 3000 with a 28" barrel but it shoots better at 2982. Accuracy trumps speed...... jim
