alpha brass

If you want it to shoot a zero, It can
Iv bought at least 8 boxes of it. Its good. .
The OCD is the new stuff. Im pretty sure.
ok thanks that's what i wanted to hear . the BRA is very easy to fireform so lapua brass wouldn't be a big deal if the alpha is good than where good to go thanks again good information.

I use Alpha in my 6Dasher. I like not having to waste components fire forming. I bought 300, on their 3rd loading now. Their still strong and load/shoot very well.

Why are people down on Alpha brass? I get it Lapua is the supposedly the best but if you really look around the majority of the people using it are very satisfied with the performance and longevity of it. I think a lot of it is internet lore I saw it is junk on the internet so it must be true. When you talk to those that actually have used it there is a mostly a positive response. Sure, there is always going to be someone, somewhere that had a problem or didn't like it but what product doesn't have haters somewhere. Of all the things we spend money on for accuracy brass is only one piece of the pie. There are so many variables that influence brass prep for accuracy some will never shoot the difference regardless of what brand they use.

I have 18 reloads on my 260 Rem Alpha brass, no loose pockets or split necks. Have had no issues with 260 Rem Peterson or Lapua brass and no difference accuracy at 600yds.

I bought what was available when I needed it.

I bought 100 pieces of Starline 308W small primer brass because I had more SRP than large ones. Ran it through the 260 Rem sizing die, neck turned to .014” because my 260 has a .295” neck.
No issues but only have 4 reloads on the Starline.

Make sure your chamber was cut with an alpha Reamer.

There’s still people spreading misinformation about interchangeability, but alpha BRA in a Wheeler chamber is a no go. I’ve tried it 3 times, and I know a lot of other guys that have failed also.

The alpha BRA shoots well in the right chamber. Good luck!

What is the difference in the chambers?
Probably 500 posts on here about that but the alpha is smaller at the .200 and their brass cannot expand enough to grip the walls of a Lapua chamber because of the OCD technology- so you end up getting horrible pressure signs prematurely, and can’t get up to normal BRA speeds.

Myself and half a dozen or so friends have tried it with multiple reamers and it simply doesn’t work.

If you want to shoot alpha, that’s great, but get their Reamer.
