Alpha 6ppc Brass......Maybe..

I know some purists will disagree and they can modify at will...but we now have what is very near a SAAMI 6 PPC. It's really the one that makes the most sense for a brass mfg, imho. Make 6 ARC brass that's equal to Lapua 220 or Grendel brass, with small primers and small flash holes, a loaded unturned neck od of .269-.270..and you'll own that small portion of the brass market.

I for one agree with you for the most part Mike. This ARC has been coming for a while and there's been shooters at the club level anyway that have been dabbling with it for at least the last year or two. It's going to be interesting to see how it all turns out. JME. WD

I would think the reason is because there are so many versions of the 6ppc that one would not suit all.
The only major variations are in the neck diameter and base diameter. For the most part, neck diameters vary from .262-.269 so the neck would need to be about 0.270 with a loaded round and the 0.200 line is .4395-.442 on most reamers, and trim length is 1.490-1.525, so make virgin brass 1.490 and the guys with short chambers will need to trim virgin brass. To be honest though, there will be reamers made to accommodate any good brass. Look at all the reamers based around Lapua brass 6BR, BRA, 6.5-284, 284, etc

The alloy used in the Norma 6PPC brass is not up to the standards of the Lapua 220 Russian brass, but Norma is a viable option. In the case of different chambers, the Norma CAN be fireformed to fit and used very well.
Fireforming should be done anyway even with Lapua. Norma makes good brass......it just doesn't have the tensile strength of Lapua. If you don't insist on "firecracker" loads,it works just fine.

If they did that I’d probably just get a 6ARC reamer set up to shoot 68 boattails
